The Bahrain Petroleum Co. reported the largest discovery of oil in the emirate since 1932. The discovery is in shallow waters off the west coast in the Khaleej Al Bahrain Basin. The current estimate of the Arabian Gulf tight oil discovery is 80 Bbbl with deep gas reserves in the region of 10-20 Tcf. The currently producing field in the country is Bahrain Field, which produces approximately 50 Mbbl/d of oil and about 1 Bcf/d of gas. Bahrain Petroleum is based in Manama, Bahrain.
