ExxonMobil subsidiary XTO Energy Inc. filed permits to drill eight horizontal Bone Spring tests from a common pad in Section 22-19s-30e in Eddy County, N.M. The ventures will be on the Carlsbad Shelf of the Permian Basin. The #001H Buttercup 27-34 Federal has a planned depth of 18,368 ft and the lateral will extend through Section 27 and about 2 miles to the southwest in Section 34. The proposed true vertical depth is 8,504 ft in Second Bone Spring. Three tests will also target Second Bone Spring with planned bottom-hole locations across Section 34 — #002H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,164 ft (8,527 ft true vertical); #003H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,031 ft (8,550 ft true vertical) and #004H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,378 ft (8,560 ft true vertical). The remaining four tests will target the shallower First Bone Spring — #005H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,796 ft (7,704 ft true vertical); #006H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,367 ft (7,719 ft true vertical); #007H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,216 ft (7,712 ft true vertical) and #008H Buttercup 27-34 Federal will be drilled to 18,474 ft (7,741 ft true vertical). All eight of the ventures are expected to be placed in Hackberry Northwest Field.
