EOG Resources Inc. has received drilling permits for 36 horizontal wildcats on the western flank of the Powder River Basin in Johnson County, Wyo. According to IHS Markit, the wildcats will be drilled from two common drillpads in Section 18-51n-78w on the company’s Mach federal leases The venture will test five formations—Niobrara, Frontier, Mowry, Muddy and Dakota. Twenty-four of the wells will be drilled from the pad in Section 18—12 northward to bottom-hole locations in Section 6-51n-78w, and 12 more southward to bottom-hole locations in Section 19-51n-78w. Twelve of the 36 wildcats will be drilled from the pad in Section 18—all to extend northward to bottom-hole locations in Section 6-51n-78w.
