Description

In Exploration Permit 455 in Western Australia's Perth Basin, Sydney-based Australian Worldwide Explorations Ltd. announced that exploration well #1-Drover intersected 787-m section of Kockatea Shale; a 257-m section of Carynginia Shale; a 289-m section of Irwin River Coal Measures and a 14.5-m section of High Cliff Sandstone. This data, together with wireline logs and core samples, will be analyzed and evaluated before determining the next phase of exploration activity. The venture is on pastoral land in the Shire of Coorow, and is a vertical exploration well designed to test the unconventional gas potential in the southern area of the company's Perth Basin acreage. Project partners in EP455 are: Australian Worldwide, 81.5 per cent and Titan Energy Limited 18.5 per cent.
