Description
A wet gas discovery was reported by Santos Ltd in the Western Cooper Wet Gas Fairway in South Australia. Exploration well #1-Emery in PEL513 was drilled to 3,262 m. Excellent gas shows were observed across Patchawarra from 2,641-3,174.5 m, with stacked reservoirs identified. Preliminary petrophysical interpretation of wireline logs calculated approximately 18.6 m of net pay across several Patchawarra zones with a gross interval of 533 m and about 7.7 m of net pay in Tirrawarra Sandstone, with a gross interval of 37 m. In addition to the conventional pay, several zones with the potential for unconventional pay were also observed. The #1-Emery has been cased and suspended as a future gas producer. The rig will move to drill the final well of the program, #1-Moonanga South. Santos is operator of PEL513 and #1-Emery well with 60 per cent interest in partnership with Drillsearch holding the remaining 40 per cent as carried interest through 2015.
