Savoy Energy LP is waiting on completion tools at a Trenton/Black River test in Calhoun County, Mich. IHS Markit reported that #1-24A Renshaw was horizontally drilled to 4,000 ft with 5 1/2-in. casing set on bottom. The expected oil producer is in Section 24-4s-8w. An initial vertical hole was abandoned at a depth of 3,800 ft. One mile to the southeast, the Traverse City-based company’s #1-19 Motz in Section 19-4s-7w was tested in mid-2019 pumping 192 bbl of crude per day from Trenton at 3,482-98 ft. The discovery was drilled to an estimated depth of 3,600 ft. Savoy’s oil find is 7 miles west of Trenton/Black River oil production in Tekonsha Field, a Calhoun County reservoir opened in 1959.
