Description
Sklar Exploration Co. has spud a second Norphlet oil test in Mount Carmel Field in the Florida Panhandle. The Santa Rosa County well, #1 Bates 2-2, is a directional test with a planned depth of 15,500 ft in irregular Section 2-5n-29w. The first well in the program is within 1 mile to the southeast at the Shreveport, La.-based company’s #1 Polk Estate 13-5 in Section 13-5n-29w. It was tested pumping an unreported amount of crude from Norphlet. Nearby production is at #39-3 Finlay Heirs in Section 39. The 1979 completion was tested in flowing 960 bbl of 46-degree-gravity crude and 6.4 MMcf of gas per day from Norphlet at 15,260-80 ft.
