Senex Plans To Drill Up To 30 Wells In Northern, Southern Cooper Basin
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Senex Energy Ltd., based in Brisbane, announced a plan to drill up to 30 wells across South Australia's northern and southern Cooper Basin over the next 12 months on company-held acreage. The first venture will be development well #8-Worrior in the Worrior Field on Permit PPL 207. The #8-Worrior will assess the oil potential of Murta, which previously flowed oil during a drillstem test at #1-Worrior, and provide an additional drainage point for the McKinlay, Birkhead, and Hutton oil reservoirs. The #8-Worrior will cut core through Murta to analyze reservoir characteristics and assess the potential for production enhancement from this tight, oil saturated reservoir. The #8-Worrior will also intersect Patchawarra, which flowed about 7.4 million cu. ft. of gas during the test at #1-Worrior. The prospects are generally located near existing facilities. In addition, new exploration prospects will be drilled on the western flank of the South Australian Cooper Basin based in data from recent 3-D seismic surveying.
