Drilling Activity Summary

Description

In Knox County, Ind., Atlas Energy Resources is planning several New Albany shale wildcats. A Borden exploratory test, #1-14 Schroeder Farms, will be vertically drilled to 2,400 ft. in Section 2-5n-9w. The well offsets the Atlas #A4-14 HDN Schroeder Farms, a February 2010 horizontal drilled in the New Albany shale to 7,839 ft. No details are available on the horizontal test. To the north, #2HD-A1 Winemiller was permitted in 2009 and will be drilled horizontally to 2,538 ft. Another Atlas location is one-half mile to the west-southwest where #3-C2 HDS Matick will target New Albany. Nearby production is from #1 HD K. Holscher, which flowed 60,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from an openhole New Albany interval at 2,721-4,519 ft. The horizontal venture was drilled to 4,519 ft., 2,584 ft. true vertical. The nearest Borden production is in Sullivan County, more than 25 miles to the north-northwest. Atlas is based in Moon Township, Pa.
