Pioneer Oil Co. is preparing to begin work on a shallow exploratory test in Illinois’ Edgar County. The #1-35 Keske has a planned depth of 800 ft and will be in Section 35-15n-14w. The Illinois Basin venture is targeting oil pays in Clear Creek. Pioneer was active in the area in late 2018 at #1 Bosch Farms in Section 2-14n-14w. It had a proposed total depth of 1,800 ft with an objective in Trenton: details of the venture are being held as confidential by Illinois regulators. Edgar County has not seen much drilling in recent years and the last well drilled in the county occurred in 2014. Pioneer’s headquarters are in Lawrenceville, Ill.
