Description

Strike Energy Ltd. announced results from its Southern Cooper Basin Gas Project appraisal drilling program in South Australia. According to the company, #1-Klebb was drilled to 2,193 meters and was flow tested. Wireline logs indicated more than a 145 meters (net) of coal in the well, with 89 meters of coal in Patchawarra, including one continuous 34-meter thick seam and two other seams each over 15 meters thick. Increased gas readings were recorded at #1-Kleeb, which were consistent with readings in #1-Le Chiffe. Results indicate gas-saturated coals with free gas. Additional data analysis in underway in the continuous coal system in the Weena Trough in PEL96 and fracture stimulation and production testing is planned at both wells during 2014. Strike, based in Paddington, New South Wales, is the operator of PEL96 and the test wells with 66.7% interest in partnership with Energy World Corp. holding 33.3%.
