Senex Energy reported that an appraisal and development drilling has extended its operated Spitfire oilfield in South Australia's Cooper Basin Western Flank Fairway in the PEL104 permit area. The #7-Spitfire was drilled to 1,827 m and confirms the western extension of the field with 6.6 m of net pay in Birkhead. It was cased and suspended as a future producer and will evaluate new leads and prospects located in the western flank region. Senex is the operator of PEL104 and the Spitfire Field with 60% interest in partnership with Beach Energy holding the remaining 40%.Brisbane-based Senex will be spudding #1-Efficient unconventional gas exploration well in January to evaluate stratigraphic traps in Patchawarra within the Allunga Trough in the southern Cooper Basin. Senex is the operator with 60% interest in partnership with Origin Energy, holding the remaining 40%.
