Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
A three-well program has been planned by Denver-based Falcon Oil & Gas and Origin Energy. The partners plan to drill the Beetaloo Basin wells in Northern Territory, Australia in EP98, EP76, and EP117. According to Falcon, the primary objectives of the program is to facilitate formation evaluation and reservoir characterization through petrophysical interpretation, core analysis, geomechanical studies, and stimulation design. The Middle Velkerri within these permits is estimated to have prospective potentially recoverable resources of 12.7 Bbbl oil and 74.5 Tcf of gas. The first well will be #1-S Kalala in Block EP98 and that has a planned depth of approximately 2,800 m and is targeting Middle Velkerri. Origin Energy will be the operator of the three Northern Territory permits that encompass 4.6 million gross acres, having farmed into them with Falcon in 2014 for a 35% interest. Sasol Ltd. holds another 35% interest as a result of its farm-in, and Falcon retains the remaining 30%.
