Transerv To Drill Two Warro Field Appraisal Wells
Drilling Activity Details
Australia
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Transerv Energy is preparing to drill two appraisal wells in Western Australia's Warro Field, the largest undeveloped onshore gas field in Western Australia. According to the company, the wells will be drilled under a farm-in agreement and are targeting the field that contains in-place resources of 8-10 Tcf of gas. The #5-Warro and #6-Warro wells will be drilled to approximately 4,250 m and are intended to establish the ability of wells to flow gas at commercial rates and avoid the issues associated with water in #3-Warro and #4 Warro wells. The #5- and #6-Warro locations are based on a 3-D seismic survey, which indicates the gas zones, deep-seated faulting, and the field outline. Perth-based Transerv is the operator of Blocks EP407 and EP321 and the Warro Field with 35 per cent interest in partnership with Alcoa Australia with the remaining 65 per cent.
