Description
Australis Oil & Gas is underway at the company’s Tuscaloosa Marine Shale program in Amite County, Miss. The #1 Stewart 30H is in Section 30-1n-6e and it will bottom to the north in Section 19. The proposed total depth is 19,950 ft, 11,900 ft true vertical. The drillsite is surrounded by abandoned locations — Encana Corp. previously permitted numerous horizontal Tuscaloosa Marine Shale tests along the Mississippi/Louisiana state line. Encana exited the play in early 2017, selling its acreage to Australis for $80 million. As of year-end 2017, the Perth, Australia-based company owned the drilling rights to 95,000 acres with around 350 net well locations in the play.
