In Jones County, Miss., Venture Oil & Gas Inc. has started drilling a 19,000-ft Cotton Valley test. The #2 Ross 6-2 is in Section 6-7n-10w in Camp Creek Field. Offsetting the test to the northeast is a 1992 well, #1 Ross et al 6-2, which was abandoned at 16,500 ft in Hosston. Nearby production is at #1 G.W. Walker et al 6-7. It was tested in 1990 flowing 468 bbl of 44-degree-gravity oil, 549 Mcf of gas and 3 bbl of water per day through acidized Hosston perforations at 16,069-16,173 ft. Venture's headquarters are in Laurel, Miss.
