Description
In Western Australia's Perth Basin, Australia Worldwide Explorations has begun drilling the #2-Waitsia appraisal well in the L1 permit area. The well has a planned depth of 12,477 m and will test the gas potential in the southern extension of the Waitsia Field. The primary targets include deep conventional formations in Kingia and High Cliff Sandstones. According to the Perth-based company a flowtest may be conducted as a production well for a potential future field development. No fracturing is planned. The well is the last of a three-well drilling program planned for the Perth Basin in 2015. Australia Worldwide is the operator of L1 and L2 and the Waitsia wells with 50% interest in partnership with Origin Energy Resources holding the remaining 50%.
