Description
In the Western Cooper Wet Gas Fairway in South Australia, Drillsearch Energy Ltd completed exploration well #1-Kyanite. The venture was drilled to 3,354 m and is in PEL 513. According Drillsearch, excellent gas shows were observed across Patchawarra and Tirrawarra Sandstone/Merrimelia from 250 to 3,795 total gas units, with stacked reservoirs identified. Wireline log interpretation confirms an aggregate estimate of 24.2 m of net conventional gas pay over several intervals in Patchawarra, with a gross interval of 534.3 m. In addition, 8.5 m of net gas pay were encountered over a gross interval of 59.1 m in Tirrawarra Sandstone/Merrimelia. The discovery has been cased and suspended as a future gas producer.
