Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Denver-based WhitMar Exploration Co. will evaluate Fayetteville shale with four northern Arkoma Basin horizontal wildcats about 15 miles north of the town of Ozark in Franklin County, Ark. The #1-7H Federal and #2-7H Federal are 40 ft. apart on a common drillpad in Section 7-12n-26w. The #1-13H Federal and #2-13H Federal are in Section 13-12n-27w. Rock Creek Field is about five miles southeast of the proposed ventures. The 50-well field has yielded 20.2 billion cu. ft. of gas from various Pennsylvanian reservoirs, Mississippian Pitkin, Wedington, Fayetteville shale and Boone. Discovered in 1959, the reservoir was averaging 1.3 million cu. ft. of gas daily at the end of 2007. The nearest Fayetteville shale well is approximately 10 miles southwest in Jethro Field. Completed in early 2006, #2-30H Emielita flowed 234,000 cu. ft. of gas daily during initial tests, producing 19.4 million cu. ft. of gas in its first two years.
