According to Oil and Gas International, Senex Energy Ltd. has cased and suspended a Worrior Field well, #10 Worrior, for future production in South Australia's PPL207. The well was targeting Patchawarra and hit oil in that formation and Murta. Wireline logs and pressure measurements from the 1,791-m well indicate that it intersected 4.5 m of net oil pay in Patchawarra. A drillstem test of Patchawarra from 1,715-35 m had a calculated total fluid flowrate equivalent of 177 bbl/d of 41-degree-gravity API oil and 21 bbl of drilling mud. There were oil shows in Murta with calculated net pay of 4.9 m. Further well testing and additional drilling is planned. Senex is the operator of PPL207 and Worrior Field with 70% interest in partnership with Cooper Energy holding the remaining 30%.
