ExxonMobil subsidiary XTO Energy Inc. has completed four horizontal wells in southwestern Lea County, N.M.’s Hat Mesa Field. According to IHS Markit, the discoveries are on the Carlsbad Shelf of the Permian Basin and were drilled from a drillpad in Section 32-20s-33e. The #002H Chistera 32 State flowed 917 bbl of oil, 762 Mcf of gas and 3.444 Mbbl of water per day from fracture-treated perforations at 11,467-16,070 ft in Third Bone Spring. Flowing tubing pressure was 700 psi during testing on a 32/64-in. choke. The well bottomed about 1 mile to the south and was drilled to 16,202 ft, 11,241 ft true vertical. Within one-half to the west in Section 32, #001H Chistera 32 State flowed 584 bbl of oil, 719 Mcf of gas and 2.99 Mbbl of water daily from Third Bone Spring at 10,790-15,990 ft. Tested on 1-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 300 psi. It was drilled to 16,131 ft, 11,150 ft true vertical. The #003H Chistera 32 State flowed 774 bbl of crude, 938 Mcf of gas and 3.559 Mbbl of water daily from perforations at 11,420-15,986 ft. The #007H Chistera 32 State flowed 537 bbl of oil, 544 Mcf of gas and 1.07 Mbbl of water per day through a zone at 10,676-15,147 ft.
