Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Houston-based Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Co. completed a high-volume horizontal Bakken producer in McKenzie County, N.D. on the Nesson Anticline. The #34-34H Llano is in Section 34-153n-95w and initially flowed 6,800 bbl. of 47-degree-gravity oil, 1.28 million cu. ft. of gas and 262 bbl. of water per day. According to IHS Inc., production is from a horizontal lateral in Middle Bakken extending from 10,603 ft. northward to 14,781 ft. with a true vertical depth of 10,331 ft. Tested on a 28/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 2,000 psi. Burlington performed eight-stage fracturing between 10,665 and 14,545 ft. The venture is on the southern flank of Charlson Field.
