“Probably the biggest thing that everyone knows is the positive for the Permian is the rock here. It’s just a really prolific area for oil and gas in the United States. The thing I think is so important about the Permian as well is just that it is a very oil and gas friendly community and environment,” said Cindy Jaggi, senior vice president of strategic process transformation at Enlink Midstream.
Hart Energy spoke to several companies during the Midstream Texas conference and exhibition in Midland. There are ongoing concerns about takeaway capacity.
“A theme sort of develops, it was real evident in this one that the theme of the takeaway issues and kind of how that might pinch the market and how the market might respond to it," said Jim McTasney of Exterran Corp. "All of that is really valuable to hear and really dig into the details of. But also, the challenge was thrown out a couple of times, to people in the room and others in the industry. There are definitely opportunities to step up and fill some of these gaps.”
While the challenge has been presented for companies to find ways to move the oil and gas out of the Permian Basin, morale seems to be high recently as the pace of activity picked up. Those working in the area say the challenges are something they’ll have to rise to and education is key.
