SCAN Geophysical ASA (SCAN) today announced that it has been selected by GX Technology (GXT) to acquire up to 5,400 miles (9,000 km) of long offset 2-D data
offshore East Africa as part of GXT’s
Acquisition of the program is underway and is estimated to take another six weeks to
complete. SCAN’s 2-D vessel, the M/V Geo Searcher, is conducting the survey using a long-offset streamer and a high-output source. This is the second 2-D survey SCAN has
conducted for GXT within the last 12 months. The company successfully recorded
approximately 10,350 miles (17,000 km) for GXT offshore
SCAN Geophysical ASA was established in 2002 as a Norwegian seismic data
acquisition company specializing in both marine streamer seismic and ocean bottom seismic. The company is currently operating one 2-D and one 3-D streamer vessel and will soon launch three new state-of-the-art 3-D vessels and one 2002-built 2-D vessel.
