Advantage Energy Ltd. appointed John Festival to its board of directors on March 12 following the retirement of Paul G. Haggis, the company said in a press release.
Haggis joined Advantage’s board in 2008 and guided the company through many changes, including its conversion from an income trust to a corporation in 2009 and to a pure-play Montney producer in 2024, according to the release.
Festival has over 35 years in the energy industry and currently serves as the president and CEO of private heavy oil and gas company Broadview Energy Ltd. He was also the president and CEO of BlackRock Ventures Inc. from 1999 to 2006 and the president and CEO of BlackPearl Resources Inc. from 2009 to 2019.
Festival also currently serves on the boards of Athabasca Oil Corp., Cardinal Energy Ltd. and i3 Energy Plc.
