Atlas Sand Co. appointed Jon Tutuncu chief commercial officer, a press release announced on June 14.
In this role, Tutuncu will shape the strategic direction of the company, leading solutions in automation, robotics and advanced technologies and assuming responsibility for strategy, sales, marketing, business development and customer experience.
"[Tutuncu] brings expertise in understanding business segments, verticals and the solutions and services that customers want,” Atlas founder and executive chairman Bud Brigham commented in the release. “We are harnessing our core strengths in technology and automation as an advantage to grow and offer value-added solutions to our customers."
Prior to joining Atlas, Tutuncu held executive leadership roles at Honeywell, Integrated and General Electric, where he oversaw sales, marketing, business development and commercial excellence functions.
He received his bachelor of science from Middle East Technical University and his master of business administration from North Carolina State University.
“I am thrilled to join the Atlas team and continue to lead the path for providing reliable and mission critical services and solutions to the oil and gas industry,” Tutuncu added. “I look forward to working with our talented team and customers to transform the Permian Basin and bring additional value to the organizations and the communities we serve.”
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Atlas Sand provides oil and gas industry access to high quality frac sand in the Permian Basin, as well as trucking and last mile logistics services.
