BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) confirmed its Cypre offshore development has delivered first gas, according to an April 3 press release.
Cypre is located 78 km off the southeast coast of Trinidad in the East Mayaro Block in approximately 80 m water depth. The project is BPTT’s third subsea development comprised of seven wells tied back to its Juniper platform, the release stated.
At peak, Cypre is projected to deliver approximately 45,000 boe/d (~250 MMscf/d of gas).
The first phase of the development for four wells was completed at the end of 2024. The second phase is expected to commence in the second half of 2025, the company stated.
Cypre is BP’s second major start-up of 2025 and is part of 10 projects BP expects to start up worldwide between 2025 and 2027.
Production from Cypre will contribute toward the 250,000 boe/d combined peak net production expected from these 10 projects, BP said.
“Cypre is another key milestone in bpTT's strategy to maximize production from our shallow water acreage using existing infrastructure. The project not only reinforces our commitment to maintaining production but also plays a crucial role in satisfying our existing gas supply commitments,” said BPTT President David Campbell.
