Technology and digital data company CGG is changing its name to Viridien following approval at the company’s annual general meeting on May 15.
The new Viridien brand will be launched on June 10 at the EAGE Annual Conference in Oslo, Norway.
Viridien will continue the company’s core focus of geoscience, Earth data and sensing and monitoring, and will add on low carbon offerings in CCS and minerals and mining. The company will also begin catering to markets outside of the energy sector in high-performance computing and infrastructure monitoring.
“Our new name, Viridien, connects our company’s history to our future, confidently positioning us for accelerated growth as an advanced technology, digital and earth data company,” Viridien CEO Sophie Zurquiyah said in the company’s press release.
The company’s new ticker symbol will be “VIRI” and listed on Euronext Paris, effective May 21.
