Exxon Mobil Corp. named ChampionX Corp. the winner of its first-ever "Supplier of the Year" award for 2022, ChampionX announced in a press release Dec. 9.
ChampionX is a supplier for the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry, specializing in chemistry programs and services, artificial lift solutions, automation and optimization equipment and drilling technologies. ChampionX supports Exxon’s global upstream activities, including Permian and Guyana operations.
Created this year, Exxon’s Supplier of the Year award acknowledges suppliers that meet Exxon’s business needs. Nominees are evaluated on criteria based on timely delivery, safety, responsiveness, service quality, innovation capabilities and commitment to sustainability and diversity.
ChampionX president and CEO Soma Somasundaram and other company leaders accepted the award on Dec. 5 at Exxon’s Spring, Texas campus.
“As our inaugural supplier of the year, ChampionX exemplified performance and responsiveness to our business needs that were especially noteworthy for our major assets in Guyana and the Permian Basin. We value our ongoing collaboration with ChampionX and congratulate them on this notable recognition,” said Pamela Skaufel, Exxon Mobil vice president of global procurement in the press release.
