CNOOC’s Bozhong 19-6 Condensate Gas Field D1 well, the first ultra-deep well in China’s Bohai Bay, achieved high yield, CNOOC announced in a July 11 press release.
The Bozhong well, located in central Bohai Bay, was drilled to a depth of 6,088 m and is currently producing approximately 6,300 boe/d.
The Bozhong 19-6 Condensate Gas Field, situated in an average water depth of about 20 m, contains proven oil and gas in place of more than 200 Bcm of natural gas and more than 200 MMcm of oil.
CNOOC brought online the Bozhong 19-6 Condensate Gas Field Pilot Area Development project in 2020, the Phase I Development project in 2023 and the 13-2 Block 5 Well Site Development project in 2024. The gas field is currently producing approximately 37,500 boe/d, CNOOC said.
