Continental Resources Inc. on Jan. 13 promoted two of its key leaders, Shelly Lambertz and John Hart, which CEO Bill Berry said will help to ensure that “Continental continues to lead the way.”
“Shelly and John have made substantial contributions to the development of our people and our company,” Berry commented in a company release, “and we are pleased to expand their leadership as we continue to deliver on our mission to produce clean, reliable, affordable, abundant American energy.”
Based in Oklahoma City, Continental Resources is a top 10 independent oil producer in the U.S. and will be celebrating 55 years of operations in 2022, according to the company release.
Continental is currently the largest leaseholder and the largest producer in the Bakken play of North Dakota and Montana. The company also has significant positions in the SCOOP and STACK plays of the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma plus newly added positions in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming and Permian Basin of Texas acquired last year.
Lambertz has been promoted to serve as Continental’s executive vice president, chief culture and administrative officer. She previously served as chief culture officer and senior vice president.
In her new role, Lambertz will also be responsible for HSE, government relations, investor relations, public relations and legal. She also oversees Continental’s nonoperated wells and has been a member of Continental’s board of directors since she joined the company in 2018.
Meanwhile, Hart has been promoted to CFO and executive vice president of strategic planning. He previously served as senior vice president, CFO and chief strategy officer.
Hart oversees all financial functions, information technology, and corporate strategic planning and, in his expanded role, he will help drive the long-term strategic vision of the company and cultivate ongoing innovation, according to the company release.
Hart joined Continental in 2005 in preparation for the company’s IPO after a career in public accounting serving numerous energy clients. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master of Science in accounting in 1991.
Prior to Lambertz’s joining of Continental in 2018, she served as the COO of Hamm Capital and as a director of the Harold Hamm Foundation, organizations formed by Continental’s founder Harold Hamm. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1988.
