Carbon capture manufacturer CORMETECH Inc. and Ozona CCS LLC have agreed to collaboratively design, construct and operate a full-scale carbon capture and sequestration (CCUS) system, the companies said in a June 18 press release.
The system includes integrated nitrogen oxide reduction and aims to capture, transport and sequester CO2 from flue gas, which is generated from natural-gas powered engines.
The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2025 and is set to be “one of the first full-scale systems to profitably capture and sequester CO2 from flue gas in the U.S.,” the release stated.
The collaboration will use CORMETECH’s next generation modular absorber technology, which the company said lowers the cost of CO2 capture compared to traditional liquid amine systems.
