The energy-AI platform Collide announced the closing of its $5 million seed round and said the new funding will help it improve and speed the development of its product.

The seed round was led by Mercury Fund. Collide said participants included industry veterans Bryan Sheffield, former CEO of Parsley Energy and leading private equity firm Formentera Partners, and Billy Quinn, managing partner at Pearl Energy Investments.

Collide’s AI platform provides cited sources and energy information to oil and gas professionals.

The company said it has added more than 6,000 users to the platform since launching, with service to public and private oil & gas clients and other private equity-backed E&Ps.
