In response to the current natural gas price environment, Appalachian natural gas producer EQT Corp. cut 1 Bcf/d of gross production beginning in late February, the company announced March 4.
The production cut will be maintained throughout March, and will be reassessed based off market conditions thereafter. Curtailments are expected to total approximately 30 Bcf to 40 Bcf in the first quarter.
The company cited warm winter weather and high storage inventory as contributors to low natural gas prices.
