LNG company Excelerate Energy (EE) reached a milestone of 3,000 ship-to-ship transfers onboard a platform in Bangladesh, the company announced Jan. 6.
The ships completed the transfer on Dec. 28, as Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit Excellence received an LNG cargo from a Maran Gas Maritime LNG tanker at the Moheshkhali floating LNG terminal in Bangladesh.
The Moheshkhali terminal has a capacity of 600 MMcf/d of natural gas and serves Bangladesh and the surrounding area.
“Since pioneering the commercial ship-to-ship transfer of LNG in 2007, we have continued to shape the industry while safely and reliably bringing energy to those who need it,” said David Liner, Excelerate’s executive vice president and CEO.
Woodlands, Texas-based Excelerate started ship-to-ship LNG operations in 2007.
