Jake Stroud, CFO at Castell Oil Co., is today’s Forty Under 40 featured honoree.
In 2017, Jake was chosen by a colleague to help found Castell Oil, a private-equity-backed E&P that operates in the Permian, Powder River and Anadarko basins.
Jake, who is a third-generation oilman, said he views himself as a prudent risk taker.
“I think risk is a healthy part of a career,” he said. “It’s been a core tenet through my professional life that I’ve always been willing to try something new, try a new approach, or try a new venture with a new team.”
Jake began his career as a restructuring analyst at FTI Consulting before joining Thomas Weisel Partners. His career also includes a variety of financial and operational roles with Stroud Exploration, Stroud Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell Plc.
Additionally, before forming Castell, Jake founded Axiom Minerals where he oversaw the deployment of two investment funds.
