Will Todd, CEO of Bedrock Energy Partners, is today’s featured Forty Under 40 honoree.
Bedrock Energy Partners is a privately funded E&P company focused on the acquisition and exploitation of upstream assets. Todd helped form the company with COO Spencer Cox in 2018.
“We’re not perfect at Bedrock, but I’m very proud of the way we embraced both PDP optimization and drilling with the same staff,” Todd said.
“It’s difficult to be a small operator with a large well count,” he continued, “but we overcame it by creating a fun culture where data and the accessibility to that data matters. ... Every well matters and every person matters. If you set things up correctly, you give yourself a chance to make the right decision for both.”
Based in Houston, Bedrock Energy Partners’s primary focus is the Barnett Shale and other mature basins.
Prior to founding Bedrock, Todd was a vice president at Cibolo Energy Partners where he focused on investment opportunities in lower, middle-market oil and gas companies in North America. He also spent five years with Lime Rock Resources as a senior associate working directly with the CFOs of both the private equity fund and the public upstream MLP, helping Lime Rock execute on 17 acquisitions.
Todd began his career as an investment banking analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch after graduating from the University of Texas with a BBA in the Business Honors program.
