The U.S’ third-largest LNG exporter Freeport LNG re-started operations at the Quintana Island, Texas plant following winter-storm related problems, the company announced Jan. 27.
After Winter Storm Enzo caused a power disruption at the plant on Jan. 21, Freeport LNG reported an intermittent electrical supply caused the plant to shut down.
Liquefication work started again less than one week later.
“Freeport LNG’s liquefication production operations have safely resumed,” the company said in a statement sent to Hart Energy on Jan. 27.
Starting Jan. 26, the plant had pulled in natural gas at a rate of 2 Bcf/d, Reuters reported. Quintana Island is located south of Houston.
Freeport LNG has a nameplate capacity of 2.38 Bcf/d of natural gas.
