1. A horizontal Eagle Ford well was completed as part of Gates Ranch Field by Rosetta Resources Operating LP in Webb County (RRC Dist. 4), Texas. The #101 Rose B. Gates 09 was tested flowing 6.39 million cu. ft. of gas, 15 bbl. of 62.7-degree condensate and 19 bbl. of water per day through fracture-treated perforations at 8,866-13,827 ft. On a 20/64-in. choke, flowing tubing pressure was 3,972 psi and the shut-in casing pressure was 4,040 psi. Located on a 6,597-acre lease in Section 2182, Joaquin Galan Survey, A-65, the new producer was drilled to 13,966 ft., 8,510 true vertical, and bottomed a mile to the northwest beneath the same section. Rosetta Resources is based in Houston.
2. Petrohawk Operating Inc. of Houston completed a horizontal Eagle Ford well as part of Hawkville Field in LaSalle County (RRC Dist. 1), Texas. The initial daily potential for #4H Henderson was 13.55 million cu. ft. of gas and 281 bbl. of water through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 11,828-18,237 ft. Gauged on a 22/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in casing pressures were 5,585 and 7,910 psi, respectively. The producer is on an 8,707-acre lease in Section 729, HE&WT RR Co Survey, A-878 and was drilled to 18,341 ft., 11,511 ft. true vertical. Log tops include Olmos at 8,371 ft., Anacacho at 10,430 ft. and Eagle Ford at 11,695 ft.
3. In Live Oak County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas, Burlington Resources Oil & Gas of Houston completed a horizontal Eagle Ford shale well as part of Eagleville Field. The #1 Jo Ann Esse Unit A was tested flowing 1,061 bbl. of 48.5-degree crude, 2.62 million cu. ft. of gas and 134 bbl. of water per day through fractured perforations at 11,983-16,363 ft. On a 14/64-in. choke, flowing casing pressure was 870 psi. The new producer was drilled to 16,665 ft., 11,485 ft. true vertical, on a 320-acre lease in Section 116, House Singleton Survey, A-219.
4. In Bee County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas, a West Cosden Field producer was reported by Millennium Exploration Co. of San Antonio. The #2 Walton Heirs flowed 163,000 cu. ft. of gas, 46 bbl. of oil and 13 bbl. of water per day. The producer was drilled to 8,018 ft. and flowed through Wilcox perforations at 7,824-28 ft. Gauged on a 12/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 2,071 psi. The producer is located on a 178-acre lease in Section 12s-18e, John Pace Survey, A-246.
5. A Karnes County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas horizontal Eagle Ford completion in Sugarkane Field flowed 1,200 bbl. of 51-degree crude, 2.4 million cu. ft. of gas and 264 bbl. of water through fracture-treated perforations at 12,918-17,084 ft. Burlington Resources Oil & Gas' #1 Edith Gray 1 Gas Unit produced through fracture-treated perforations at 12,918-17,084 ft. The flowing tubing pressure was 6,800 psi on a 14/64-in. choke. The well was drilled to a total depth of 17,415 ft., 12,719 ft. true vertical, and is on a 704-acre lease in the Ramon Musquiz Survey, A-7. It bottomed a mile to the northwest beneath the same survey. The well was previously operated by ConocoPhillips.
6. According to IHS Inc., New Gulf Energy LLC finaled a horizontal Woodbine well in Madison County, (RRC Dist. 3), Texas. The #1H Allphin, operated by Petromax Operating Inc., was tested flowing 1,266 bbl. of 44-degree crude, 1,000 cu. ft. of gas and 655 bbl. of water per day through fracture-treated perforations at 9,100-16,132 ft. According to New Gulf Energy, the initial potential was reportedly flowing up to 1,395 bbl. of oil with an estimated 800,000 cu. ft. of gas daily. On a 30/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 590 psi. The Madisonville West Field well is on a 326-acre lease in Archiles Nunley Survey, A-176. Total depth is 16,300 ft. and the true vertical depth was 8,592 ft. It bottomed a mile and a half to the east beneath the B.F. Goodman Survey, A-107.
7. Sun River Energy Inc. has completed a directional Haynesville shale well. The #1 Neal Heirs Unit is part of Carthage Field in East Texas' Panola County (RRC Dist. 6). According to Sun River, the well is producing both natural gas and crude and is flowing at 2.26 million cu. ft. of gas per day with a constant flowing tubing pressure of 3,320 psi. The venture was vertically drilled to 11,057 ft., completed through perforations at 10,214-10,716 ft. and was initially shut in at 5,386 psi tubing pressure after fracture treatment. The well is located on a 655.16-acre lease in Andrew J. McGowan Survey, A-426. Dallas-based Sun River Energy owns a 77.5% working interest in the new producer.
8. According to IHS Inc., a Chesapeake Operating Inc. horizontal Haynesville shale well has been completed as part of Cedar Grove Field in Caddo Parish, La. The #1 Slattery 14-16-14H flowed 14.07 million cu. ft. of gas and 475 bbl. of water per day through fractured perforations at 11,591-16,098 ft. Gauged on a 22/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 6,790 psi. Located in Section 14-16n-14w, the new producer was drilled to 16,195 ft., 11,463 ft. true vertical. It bottomed about a mile to the north beneath the same section. Chesapeake's headquarters are in Oklahoma City.
9. An offshore Louisana workover completion by LLOG Exploration Co. on West Cameron Block 31 was tested flowing 2.86 million cu. ft. of gas per day from Miocene at 12,446-76 ft. The #1 State Lease 18949 was drilled in 2006 to 14,807 ft. from a surface location in the northern portion of irregular Block 31. According to IHS Inc., it was originally tested flowing 10.7 million cu. ft. of gas per day from Miocene at 12,346-12,422 ft. Through December 2010, well output was 21.4 billion cu. ft. of gas, 543,991 bbl. of condensate and 3.9 million bbl. of water per day. LLOG Exploration's headquarters are in Covington, La.
10. Contango Oil & Gas Co.'s Swimmy prospect in Vermilion Block 170 has a gas and condensate find. The #1 OCS G33596 is expected to be brought online this fall at a rate of 15 million cu. ft. of gas equivalent per day net to the Houston-based operator. Proved reserves at the site total 48 billion cu. ft. of gas and 1.2 million bbl. of condensate. The Houston-based operator has a 68% net revenue interest in the Swimmy development. Water depth in the area is 85 ft. Contango acquired the drilling rights to Block 170 at OCS Sale 213, held in March 2010.
11. Lymac Exploration & Production LLC of Ridgeland, Miss., completed a Lower Tuscaloosa well as part of Liverpool Northwest Field in St. Helena Parish, La. The initial daily potential for #1 Weyerhaeuser Co. was 250 bbl. of 40-degree crude, 500,000 cu. ft. of gas and 41 bbl. of water through perforations at 12,444-49 ft. On a 10/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were gauged at 1,870 psi and 2,300 psi, respectively. Located in irregular Section 62-1s-5e, the new producer was drilled to 12,460 ft.
12. A Mississippi wildcat has been staked by Plano, Texas-based Denbury Onshore LLC in Rankin County. If successful, it will be the deepest producer in the area. The #1 Promos 22-12 is slated to be drilled to 17,500 ft. with an objective in Norphlet. Nearby recovery is about four miles to the southwest: a 2,412-ft. completion drilled in 1933 flowed 33.51 million cu. ft. from an openhole Gas Rock interval at 2,408-12 ft. In neighboring Madison County, Denbury drilled two recent Norphlet wells in Gluckstadt Field that flowed more than 100 million cu. ft. per day.
