Halliburton Labs recently added two new advisory board members—Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech, and Maynard Holt, CEO of Veriten.
“We are excited to welcome two exceptional leaders who will provide a wealth of expertise as we advance our work to help early-stage companies achieve their growth targets,” Dale Winger, managing director of Halliburton Labs, commented in a release from the company on Jan. 31.
Halliburton Labs is a subsidiary of Halliburton Co. based out of the oilfield service firm’s headquarters in Houston. The company describes itself as a “collaborative environment where entrepreneurs, academics, investors and industrial labs join to advance cleaner, affordable energy.”
Originally launched in 2020, Halliburton Labs has named 12 clean energy companies to its accelerator program. The program announced its last additions in November.
Holmgren and Holt, who the company said brings “significant experience in energy systems, innovation and business networks,” join Winger, Halliburton CEO Jeff Miller, Rice University’s Provost and incoming President Reggie DesRoches, geologist John Grotzinger and Walter Isaacson, the Leonard Lauder Professor of American History and Values at Tulane, on the Halliburton Labs advisory board.
“Our team is grateful for Jennifer and Maynard’s deep knowledge across a variety of energy disciplines and commitment to our mission,” Winger added in the release.
Holt, a co-founder of Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. (TPH) who previously served as its CEO from 2016 to 2021, has over 27 years of experience in energy investment banking. He had also previously served as co-president of TPH from 2007 to 2016 and, prior to joining TPH, as a managing director with Goldman Sachs.
He currently serves as CEO of Veriten, a new and differentiated energy information platform Holt recently launched dedicated to seeking “truth in energy.”
Meanwhile, Holmgren is the recipient of numerous awards including the William C. Holmberg Award for Lifetime Achievement in advanced bioeconomy by the Digest and the Edison Achievement Award for her contributions to the world of innovation.
Holmgren currently serves as CEO of LanzaTech, a carbon recycling company, which deploys carbon capture and reuse facilities to make fuels and chemicals from waste carbon. Prior to LanzaTech, she was vice president and general manager of the Renewable Energy and Chemicals business unit at UOP LLC, a Honeywell company.
She also serves on the advisory council for the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
