Nuevo Energy Co., Houston has transferred, for undisclosed consideration, a 25% participating interest in its Accra-Keta Permit offshore the Republic of Ghana, West Africa, to a large U.S.-based independent. Nuevo will continue to operate the 2.7-million-acre Accra-Keta Permit and retain a 75% participating interest. Vaalco Energy Inc., Houston, plans to acquire Western Atlas Afrique Ltd.'s 65% interest in the Etame Block offshore Gabon, West Africa. Financial and other considerations for the acquisition were not disclosed. Conoco, Houston, plans to acquire half of the 80% interest held by two Royal Dutch/Shell subsidiaries in two blocks offshore Malaysia. Conoco Inc., Houston, Norwegian affiliate Norske Conoco will acquire a 6.4% interest in the giant Grane Field from Statoil for approximately $60 million, effective Jan. 1.
