Iveco Group and Shell International Petroleum Co. Ltd. have reconfirmed their pledge to accelerate the shift to zero-emission mobility, according to a June press release.
The reaffirmation is in line with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) the two companies signed earlier in 2023. Under the MOU, both Iveco Group and Shell are working together to jointly develop low-carbon and highly efficient energy solutions.
The reconfirmation took place during a meeting between Gerrit Marx, CEO of Iveco Group and Giorgio Delpiano, senior vice president of business mobility at Shell in Turin, Italy. Iveco Group is a supplier of vehicles and related services. Shell is working to create infrastructure to help mobility customers achieve low- and zero-carbon energy. The companies acknowledged in the press release that moves need to be made with expediency, according to the release.
Iveco Group is made up of eight brands, including commercial vehicle designer IVECO, advanced powertrain technology company FPT Industrial, IVECO BUS and HEULIEZ, defense and civil protection company IDV, construction vehicle company ASTRA, firefighting vehicle manufacturer MAGIRUS and IVECO CAPITAL, a financing company.
