On Monday, Oct. 29, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) signed a contract with Landmark, a product service line of Halliburton, for the provision of software and operational management services for NPD’s DISKOS database. Under this five-year contract, which was first announced in June 2006 and will begin in 2009, Landmark will provide DISKOS with its PetroBank Master Data Store and will extend the database’s ability to support new data types such as field, prestack, multi-component seismic, 4-D seismic and production data.
Landmark’s next-generation PetroBank Master Data Store technology will run on Linux to offer greater performance and flexibility. Landmark will also deploy a new interface called PetroBank Explorer for DISKOS—a solution that will allow casual users to search, browse, preview and order DISKOS data, making it easier to exploit available NPD data and develop more effective exploration positions.
