It is with great sadness that Hart Energy must announce the sudden passing of Leslie Haines, the longtime editor-in-chief of Oil and Gas Investor. Leslie was a friend and mentor to so many of us not only at Hart Energy but also in the oil and gas industry as a whole. She is an industry icon and will be greatly missed.
Leslie, who retired from full-time work on Oil and Gas Investor in 2020, had recently become ill.
Affectionately known in the industry as “The Queen of the Oil Patch,” she had a more than 40-year career covering the industry she loved. Her name is synonymous with the growth of Oil and Gas Investor as a go-to source for oil and gas information.
“She will always be remembered for her smile, her willingness to help others and how everyone in the business just gravitated towards her,” said Rich Eichler, chairman of the board of Hart Energy. “She was one of a kind.”
Hart Energy will have further updates and tributes on Leslie’s life and work in Oil and Gas Investor and on HartEnergy.com.
