McDermott International has completed transportation, installation, and commissioning for the Kikeh subsea gas lift project offshore Malaysia.
The project, awarded by Thailand national oil company PTTEP Sabah Oil Ltd. in first-quarter of 2024, involved replacing an existing gas lift riser, then installing a dynamic riser section, flowline and two thermoplastic composite pipe jumpers. The water depth was 1,400 m.
“Completing the project ahead of schedule stands as testament to McDermott's capabilities in delivering safe and efficient solutions for deepwater field development projects,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott's senior vice president, subsea and floating facilities.
The Kikeh field is about 75 miles northwest of Labuan Island, offshore Sabah, East Malaysia. It came on stream in 2009.
