?1 IHS Inc. reports that on the Central Kansas Uplift, Damar Resources Inc., Hays, Kan., has completed a Pennsylvanian producer near Ellis, Kan., pumping 125 bbl. of oil per day and a trace of water. The #2 Bongartz-Augustine is in Section 29-13s-21w, eastern Trego County, and produces from an untreated zone in Cherokee conglomerate. Perforated at 4,094-98 ft., log tops at the 4,179-ft. prospect include Lansing at 3,671 ft., Cherokee sand at 4,079 ft. and Cherokee conglomerate at 4,093 ft.
2 Houston-based Apache Corp. pumped 464 bbl. of 40-gravity oil and 587,000 cu. ft. of gas per day, with no water, at an exploratory test completed approximately seven miles northeast of Laverne, Okla., in Harper County.?The #2-29 Rose Hill is in Section 29-27n-24w and reached 6,680 ft. It was completed producing from five fracture-stimulated Cherokee intervals at 6,444-52 ft., 6,458-70 ft., 6,476-80 ft., 6,488-96 ft. and 6,502-06 ft. The log tops were noted for Tonkawa at 5,335 ft., Cherokee at 6,436 ft. and Morrow shale at 6,576 ft.
3 Mewbourne Oil Co., Tyler, Texas, reports an initial flow of 2.35 million cu. ft. of gas, 45 bbl. of 54-gravity condensate and six bbl. of water per day at an Ellis County exploratory test near Gage, Okla. The #1 Danielle 2 in Section 2-20n-23w has produced through untreated perforations at 10,088-10,102 ft. in Morrow. Shut-in tubing pressure was 2,870 psi, and flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 900 psi on an open choke. Log tops include Tonkawa at 7,071 ft., Cottage Grove at 7,598 ft., Cleveland at 8,162 ft., Morrow at 9,540 ft. and Chester at 10,302 ft. Total depth of the test is 10,380 ft.
4 A new Morrow producer, flowing gas at an initial rate of 5.01 million cu. ft. with 210 bbl. of water daily, has been reported by Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City. The producer is about eight miles north of Erick, Okla. The #2-16 Finnell, in Section 16-10n-25w, northwestern Beckham County, produces from eight fractured Morrow zones at 16,910-14 ft., 16,934-36 ft., 16,940-43 ft., 17,085-88 ft., 17,138-42 ft., 17,166-70 ft., 17,206-10 ft. and 17,241-45 ft. Tubing pressure flow was gauged at 3,949 psi on a 14/64-in. choke. Reported log tops are Missouri Granite Wash at 9,764 ft., Des Moines Granite Wash at 11,931 ft., Atoka Granite Wash at 13,619 ft., Atoka Carbonate Wash at 14,329 ft. and Upper Morrow at 15,856 ft. Total depth is 18,500 ft.
5 Reporting 10.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 650 bbl. of 53-degree condensate per day,?Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City, has completed a Colony Wash horizontal in its exploration and development program that targets Des Moines Granite Wash southeast of Clinton, Okla.?The #1-18H Kliewer, in Section 18-11n-16w, northern Washita County, has produced following a four-stage frac job at 12,590-13,581 ft., 13,705-14,696 ft., 14,820-15,811 ft. and 16,045-16,918 ft. Flowing casing pressure was 4,465 psi on a 20/64-in. choke, and initial shut-in pressure was gauged at 5,600 psi. The 16,980-ft. Anadarko Basin venture was drilled northward to a bottomhole location in the section. True vertical depth reached 12,279 ft., and 4,305 ft. of lateral was drilled in Des Moines.
6 A Fort Worth Basin, horizontal Barnett shale well was completed in the western Montague County, Texas, (RRC District 9) portion of Newark East Field. Houston-based EOG Resources Inc. tested #1H Bowen Unit with initial daily flows of 197 bbl. of 44-degree oil, 265,000 cu. ft. of gas and 364 bbl. of water. EOG acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations at 8,290-11,810 ft. and gauged flowing tubing pressure at 110 psi on a 1-in. choke. The #1H Bowen Unit was drilled to a total depth of 11,926 ft. in Washington Edwards Survey, A-227. The top of the Barnett shale was logged at 7,972 ft. At a nearby location, EOG is active at #1 Seibold in the R.L. Steelman Survey, A-1324.
7 IHS Inc. reports that American Energies Corp., Wichita, Kan., recovered gas at a Permian wildcat in the northern Sedgwick Basin near Halstead, Kan. Dallas-based Saxon Oil Co. Ltd., a 50%-working-interest partner, reports #1-23 Talbot, in Section 23-23s-2w, flowed more than 900,000 cu. ft. of low-Btu gas daily and no water during a drillstem test run in an undisclosed interval of Indian Cave sand. The central Harvey County prospect was drilled to 1,298 ft., and casing was set to 1,290 ft. Bottomhole pressure was more than 500 psi, but few additional details are available. The area is approximately a mile south of Halstead Field, which was discovered in 1928 on the southern end of the north-northeast trending Halstead-Graber Anticline.
8 A northern shelf Ordovician producer by?Oklahoma City-based SandRidge Energy Inc. has reported flows of 12.1 million cu. ft. per day of gas. The #2-12 Paint is on the Anadarko Basin’s northern shelf, north of Freedom, Okla., in Woods County. The well, in Section 12-27n-18w, also produced six bbl. of 55-gravity condensate and 2,100 bbl. of water daily, was perforated at 6,730-68 ft. in Simpson dolomite and was fracture-stimulated. Shut-in tubing pressure was 1,559 psi, with flowing tubing pressure of 939 psi on a 64/64-in. choke. Total depth is 7,012 ft. SandRidge has multi-well delineation programs under way in the area.
9 A 6.59-million-cu.-ft.-per-day Woodford horizontal producer in the western Arkoma Basin has been drilled by?Devon Energy Production Co., Oklahoma City. The #1-10H Sprague is about four miles southwest of Ashland, Okla., in Section 15-3n-11e, northeastern Coal County. It was flow-tested on a 64/64-in. choke and produced 1,416 bbl. of water daily in addition to the gas. The well was fractured in four stages at 8,937-9,220 ft., 9,306-9,682 ft., 10,050-10,427 ft. and 10,795-11,172 ft. in a Woodford lateral that extends northward to a bottomhole location in Section 10-3n-11e.
10 In central Maverick County, Texas, (RRC District 1) a horizontal Glen Rose/Pearsall discovery has been completed by San Antonio-based TXCO Resources Inc. The #341H Comanche Ranch, drilled about six miles northwest of El Indio in Section 34, Anton Hanauer Survey, A-142, flow-tested 604,000 cu. ft. of gas and 302 bbl. of water daily from an openhole interval from 7,740 to 10,996 ft. Flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were gauged at 600 psi and 5,866 psi, respectively, on a 28/64-in. choke. Absolute open flow was calculated at 611,000 cu. ft. per day. Pipe was set to 10,635 ft., and log tops included Edwards at 5,530 ft., Glen Rose at 5,835 ft. and Pearsall, 8,150 ft.
11 Seeco Inc., a unit of Houston-based Southwestern Energy Co., has completed two producers in northern Conway County, Ark., near Damascus. The Arkoma Basin ventures include a shallow Pennsylvanian exploratory test, #3-27 Bartlett 9-15, in Section 27-9n-15w, that was vertically drilled to 3,295 ft. It was tested at 2,874-92 ft. in Hale and flowed 3.84 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The operator reports a shut-in pressure of 896 psi, but few additional details have been made available. Seeco’s second producer is a horizontal Fayetteville well, #4-27H Bartlett 9-15, in the same section. It was tested through fractured perforations at 4,283-8,184 ft. and flowed 3.6 million cu. ft. of gas per day. It was drilled northwestward to a measured depth of 8,272 ft.
