Fort Smith, Ark.-based Freedom tested the exploratory well through perforations at 7,662-7,701 ft., according to IHS Energy Group. 5 Barrett Resources Corp., Denver, gauged a flow of 1.04 million cu. ft. of gas, with two bbl. of oil, per day while testing Pennsylvanian Overturned Springer at #1-20 Russell in Section 20-7n-14w, Kiowa County, Okla. The well, a stepout from Mountain View West Field, is producing from 11,217-94 ft. The new extension is 0.75-mile east of Barrett's #2-19 Edwards, itself a one-mile-east extension to the field completed last year. The #2-19 Edwards initially flowed 7.31 million cu. ft. of gas per day. 6 A pump gauge of 335 bbl. of oil, with 1.9 million cu. ft. of gas, per day was recorded at Denver-based St. Mary Operating Co.'s #1-13 Charles, a delineation test completed in Leonel Southeast Field, Dewey County, Okla. Morrow, perforated between 9,386-9,439 ft., is the producing zone at the well, in Section 13-17n-14w. 7 Texas' Hemphill County is the site of the Phillips Petroleum Co. #3-4 McQuiddy, an exploratory test completed for a flow of 2.29 million cu. ft. of gas per day from Upper Morrow. IHS Energy Group says Phillips perforated at 12,002-08 ft. at the extension, in Section 4, Block 1, G&M Survey, A-434, a mile north of the northernmost Morrow producer in Howe Ranch North Field. 8 Hamker Ranch Field in Ochiltree County, Texas, was extended a half-mile to the west when Crescendo Resources LP completed the #3740 Nelson "E" flowing 957,000 cu. ft. of gas, three bbl. of condensate and five bbl. of water per day. Tested on a 48/64-in. choke, the outpost is producing through perforations at 9,222-31 ft. and 9,247-52 ft. in Basal Morrow. The new producer is in Section 740, Block 43, H&TC Survey, A-1083. 9 A Pennsylvanian Strawn discovery completed by J.D. Gas Inc. in southern Crockett County, Texas, yielded a flow of 2.307 million cu. ft. of gas per day on a 16/64-in. choke. The Seabrook, Texas, independent's #1 Michael was tested through perforations between 10,600-11,100 ft. It's in Section 7, Block OOO, CG&SF Survey A-3804. In the same section, the operator has drilled to 11,500 ft. at the #2 test and approximately 11,000 ft. at the #3 on its Michael lease. Few details have been released on those prospects. Meanwhile, in the central part of the county, Dallas-based James Cleo Thompson made a modest discovery, one that was tested on gas lift for 35 bbl. of oil and 9,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from Ordovician Ellenburger at 7,759-63 ft. Thompson's well is the #23 Thompson "67" in Section 67, Block OP, GC&SF Survey. 10 Amarillo-based Riata Energy Inc. tested a flow of gas at the rate of 6.815 million cu. ft. per day at the wildcat #1201 Longfellow to open Algerita Field in Pecos County, Texas. Riata used a 22/64-in. choke to test the gas flow through perforations between 5,169-8,024 ft., reports IHS Energy Group. Log tops include Dimple at 5,162 ft. and Pennsylvanian Caballos at 6,515 ft. The discovery is in Section 12, Block 108, ELRR (T.S. Talley) Survey, A-5563. 11 A horizontal Silurian Montoya wildcat in Ward County, Texas, flowed 3.505 million cu. ft. of gas, three bbl. of condensate and seven bbl. of water per day at completion by Mobil Producing Texas & New Mexico Inc. Mobil's #2H Herd Gas Unit flowed on a 48/64-in. choke through perforations between 13,541-19,160 ft. The discovery was drilled from a surface location in Section 81, Block 34, H&TC (J.H. Russell) Survey, A-218. Total horizontal displacement is 6,480 ft. with the terminus of the hole located to the south in Section 78, H&TC Survey, A-1082. 12 An openhole interval at 7,027-35 ft. in Pennsylvanian Canyon Reef gave up a flow of 120 bbl. of oil per day on a 12/64-in. choke at a discovery made by R.L. Adkins Corp. in Kent County, Texas. The Sweetwater, Texas, independent's #1 Spires is in Section 701, Block 97, H&TC Survey, 1.25 miles west of Cogdell Field. 13 Burnett Oil Co. Inc., Fort Worth, finaled an Upper Pennsylvanian Lower Cisco Sand discovery in King County, Texas, for a pump gauge of 153 bbl. of oil and 17 bbl. of water, with 9,200 cu. ft. of gas, per day.
