Dr. Stephen Holditch, a leader in hydraulic fracturing, passed away Aug. 9. He was 72. Holditch was a professor and former head of the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University as well as the 2002 president of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

David Lamont has been appointed CEO of ROVOP, succeeding Steven Gray who stepped down from the role after eight years with the company.

EnerMech has appointed John Guy CEO. He will succeed company founder Doug Duguid, who will assume the role of deputy chairman.

MMA Offshore has promoted David Ross to CEO.

Evolution Petroleum Corp.’s board of directors has appointed Jason Brown as its CEO and president.

Twin Disc Inc. has named James E. Feiertag president and COO.

GreyLock Energy has promoted Ryan Deaderick to executive vice president and COO. Also, Drew McCallister has joined the company as senior vice president and general counsel.

Penn Virginia Corp. announced that Steven A. Hartman will be stepping down from his role as CFO. He will remain with the company until a new CFO is appointed.

Bryan C. Gunderson has joined Falcon Minerals Corp. as CFO, succeeding Jeffrey F. Brotman, who has stepped down from his position. Brotman will continue to serve as the company’s chief legal officer and secretary.

Water Standard and its produced water subsidiary, Monarch Separators, have appointed Lisa Henthorne president of the Produced Water Society.

Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced on Aug. 8 the successful completion of its acquisition of Anadarko Petroleum Corp., in a transaction valued at $55 billion, including the assumption of Anadarko’s debt.

Milestone Environmental Services has begun construction of a new slurry injection facility near Big Spring, Texas. The facility, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter, will allow Milestone to better serve the increasing drilling activity in the northern Midland Basin.

Gazprom has opened a new branch in Russky Island in Vladivostok. The specialized engineering unit will implement projects focused on offshore hydrocarbon production and on gas processing and liquefaction
in eastern Russia.

Ikon Science and Fairfield Geotechnologies have opened a new shared office in Denver. The partnership offers E&P companies a comprehensive solution set to monitor, predict and better monetize onshore assets.

Airswift has opened a new office in Denver.

Xodus Group announced in July that an agreement is in place to acquire Perth-based Green Light Environmental.

Proserv announced the sales of its field technology services (FTS) business unit, including its surveying capability, to subsea services group Acteon. Proserv’s FTS business unit offers cutting, friction stud welding and pipeline maintenance services, which will be integrated into Acteon under its Claxton brand.

FracRx, a MicroSeismic company, is a new data analytics company focused on well economics, maximizing drainage volume, completion optimization and risk mitigation. MicroSeismic announced the new company at the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference in July.

Trendsetter Engineering Inc. and Intelligent Wellhead Systems Inc. announced the establishment of a joint venture, InVision Offshore Inc., to introduce new technology and services aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of offshore drilling, completion, intervention and abandonment operations.

Entek Energy Ltd. has changed its name to XCD Energy Ltd.
