COMPANIES
Fugro opened a new office in Maputo, Mozambique, and established an operational center and laboratory in Pemba, Mozambique. The laboratory
is the only internationally accredited laboratory in Mozambique, according to a company press release.
Hoover Container Solutions announced the grand opening of its new distribution and service center in Scott, La. The center is located on nine acres and has 2,323 sq m (25,000 sq ft) of warehouse space and 280 sq m (3,000 sq ft) of office space. The site will handle operations such as tank wash, recertification, reconditioning, and transportation of intermediate bulk containers as well as selling and renting an inventory of products. ABS has broken ground on an office for offshore services in Houston, according to a company press release. The office will move engineering, project management, technology, and business management into a common facility. The facility is scheduled to open in 1Q 2014.
GE announced that its first-ever global research center dedicated to oil and gas technology will be built on a site in downtown Oklahoma City. The center will focus on mid- to late-stage technologies developed in GE’s global research labs, including production systems, well construction, water use optimization, COsolutions, and energy systems. Construction on the facility will begin in the spring of 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2015.
