National Renewable Solutions (NRS), a U.S.-based renewable energy developer and operator, closed $145 million in financing for its 140-megawatt (MW) alternating current solar and 50-MW storage project located in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico.
The Shallow Basket Project’s construction, financed by Deutsche Bank, is currently underway. Gridworks was selected as the engineering, procurement and construction provider. The facility is expected to be operational in 2025.
NRS will be the owner and operator of the project; Guzman Energy will buy 100% of the power and associated renewable attributes.
The project is on leased land from the Jicarilla Apache Nation. The power produced from the project will benefit the Jicarilla Apache through the wholesale supply agreement with Guzman.
